The video projected onto the inner surface of the butcher paper consists of another video projected onto the bodies of inanimate animals in a slaughterhouse. Each projected video represents the previous stage of the projected surface. Thus, by trying to create a time lapse between the past of the past, the past of the past of the past, connections that are not seen or ignored in daily life are intended to be re-established.
While the live animal, when it is killed, and the dead animal who is brought to the table on a plate, actually have the same origin, when the connection between them, which was broken intentionally or unintentionally, is revived, it intends to hold both an archival value for future animals and a reminding document for the people of today.
The word “inventory” comes from the French word “inventaire, which means “detailed list of goods”. In English, farm animals are also defined by the word livestock, which means “live stock”. Inventory also asks a question with the name of the work; whether the definition of living beings with these terms used in animal husbandry is a result of or a reason for the breaking of this bond between the animals and the consumed products made from animals.
Kasap kağıdının iç yüzeyine yansıtılan video, başka bir videonun kesimhanedeki cansız hayvan bedenlerine yansıtılmasından oluşmaktadır. Her yansıtılan video, yansıtıldığı yüzeyin bir önceki aşamasını temsil etmektedir. Böylece; geçmişin geçmişinin geçmişi, geçmişin geçmişi ve geçmiş arasında bir zaman atlaması oluşturulmaya çalışılarak, günlük hayatta görülmeyen veya görmezden gelinen bağlantılar tekrar kurulmaya çalışılmaktadır.
Hayvanın hayattaykenki hali, öldürüldükten sonraki hali ve tabakta sofraya gelen hali aslında aynı orjine sahipken, kasten veya farkında olmadan kopan aradaki bağ tekrar canlandırıldığında, hem gelecekteki hayvanlar için arşivsel bir değer, hem de günümüzdeki insanlar için bir hatırlarma belgesi olma niyeti taşımaktadır.
Envanter, Fransızca’daki “ayrıntılı mal listesi” anlamına gelen inventaire kelimesinden gelmektedir. İngilizce’de çiftlik hayvanları da “canlı stok” anlamına gelen livestock kelimesiyle tanımlanır. Canlı varlıkların hayvancılıkta kullanılan bu terimlerle tanımlanmasının, aradaki bu bağın kopmasının bir sonucu mu, yoksa sebebi mi olduğu konusunda da, eser adıyla bir soru sormak istenir.
